Welcome to the blog series: The Art In Business.
Articles will be for any business owner or creative and especially that beautiful sweet spot in the center of the venn diagram connecting the two. Because I believe we can all agree every business has creative needs and every creative has business needs.
A little about myself and why I decided to start the the blog series The Art In Business.
I own and operate Joleanna Designs, an LLC whose main goal is connecting with business owners offering mural design and installation. Joleanna Designs also includes portraiture, live painting, and fine art. Starting this business has been a learning curve and I have made some right choices, some mistakes I regret, and have met a LOT of people along the way.
It turns out the need for business smarts and resources in the creative world is REAL. The need for businesses to push their creative boundaries is REAL.
All to often I speak with businesses who honestly admit they do not understand how to hire, commission, contract an artist, although they do all these things with a hundred other fields. It’s as if quality art and design is an enigma that they would rather shy away from than tackle professionally. Likewise, the number of artists who (yes, even upon graduating expensive art and design colleges…) imbody the non-professional, industry degrading starving artist persona and have no clue how to market, sell, and communicate with and to the corporate world is astonishing. Therein lays the goal of this blog:
FREE tips to:
Help BUSINESSES big and small stretch their creativity and communicate effectively with independent creatives to get the MOST out of their art installations - in value, products, and social marketing.
Help CREATIVES to break the barriers of the corporate world and communicate effectively and professionally with businesses.
Help EVERY PROFESSIONAL make the most of their resources.
Nope, I am no business expert, I consider myself a business newbie. That, however, is not going to stop me from sharing everything I learn along the way from the actual experts. Get ready for interviews from the leaders of their industry, Q and A with professionals in creative and business fields, product recommendations, marketing strategies, and so much more.
Please comment freely and honestly while simultaneously keeping your comments kind and professional.
