Rachel & Cody's Wedding Dance
Rachel and wedding reception at Romer’s Catering & Entertainment was full of warmth, love and joy. The couple emitted happiness which reflected in the faces of their friends and family.
Rachel requested their first dance be live captured and gave me creative freedom for all other details. Upon arriving at Romer’s Catering & Entertainment, I began setting up in the reception hall, while the couple were at the wedding venue vowing their love. After setting up my paints and easel, I took the hour before the ceremony to paint the background and layout of their portrait. The shiny wooden dance floor, the green laden gauze lit with fairy lights, the sign “Mr. & Mrs. Tebbe est 2023”, and cake table all equaled the perfect backdrop for their magical moment.
While Cody and Rachel swayed and twirled I quickly painted and filmed for reference their special moment. Toad Productions kept the music flowing seamlessly for their dance and the rest of evening. It was such an emotional experience to see the couple’s reaction and know that I helped capture a momentous part of their day - their first dance.
Not every family member was able to be at the Tebbe Wedding, however. Rachel knew she wanted their whole household, including her fur babies, in the painting and even dressed her dogs up for a photoshoot prior to the occasion. I had the photos waiting in my inbox and painted them joining the dancing couple back at my studio the following morning.
We met up and exchanged the painting and hugs following their honeymoon.
