Gladden Food Pantry Mural Franklinton, OH
I hope this mural brings you all the joy and smiles! 💛💜💗💙
Large scale public mural, Franklinton, Ohio. 456 sq. ft. Painted in eight days*
Inspo: It’s difficult if not impossible to have whimsy and imagination, especially as a child, when you are consistently hungry.
This mural is dedicated to mom’s and the tireless work they have making sure their kids have something to eat everyday. The flowers (all Ohio wildflowers) are symbolic of where our food comes from and to need to preserve our pollinators.
This mural is also dedicated to Franklinton community and the Gladden Community House and Food Pantry that provides valuable services supporting their neighborhood. The mural features in the background, on the left, the Gladdon Community House. It also features Franklinton’s Columbus Metropolitan Library that provides after school snacks while feeding the imagination through literacy. The building to the right is an nod to Franklinton Cycle Works who recommended this project and helps their community with transportation, which for many, is an important step in getting nutrition.
This mural is supported and funded by the Franklinton Art District via the George Bellows Grant. Thank you to everyone who could see my vision for this wall and help make it a reality. Thank you to every person who stopped to talk, cheer, wave, and expressed what this mural meant to them. I could not have had better support, thank you!

Image description: Mural features a mixed Latino Black family on bikes riding along a bike trail with Columbus in the background. The mom has a toddler in a bike child carrier on the back and a little girl is riding a bike with streamers. Both bikes have baskets overflowing with flowers and streaming behind them a whimsical rainbow of yellows, whites, and pinks which contrast the teals and blues of the background. Everyone is smiling and laughing including the little dog peeking out of the little girl’s basket. Wild Ohio Prairie flowers are painted to line the their path along with a yellow butterfly and Rosy Maple Moth.
