”Stranger Neighbors” illustrates a hilarious, bittersweet, and perhaps, a bit creepy scene from a movie theater and it’s glorious snacks. Upon first glance, the viewer of this piece (especially those prone to coulrophobia) might be initially repelled by the movie goer sitting right middle. Upon further exploration, however, it’s really more than likely an old guy just wanting to enjoy his movie and hotdog in peace. Next, one’s eye is drawn to the stereotypical date-night couple directly in the middle. Is their eccess of delicious saccharine and butter filled snacks combined with exciting cinema not enough to diminish their social anxiety and need to be phone scrolling? (not to mention the accidental hair groping) Leads one to the question…who’s the stranger neighbor? Based off of true events.
