This piece illustrates what COVID life is like for so many families in 2020. Dingy walls, broken blinds, absence of furniture to illustrate poverty and threat of eviction. The hole punched in the wall for unseen domestic violence. The laptop for unavoidable screen addition and crises schooling. The caution taped park for the disappearance of usual havens many find away from home in their community, work, school, even the neighborhood park. Instead many were forced to hide in their homes of mental anguish behind masks and waving a facade of smiles to the online world. Leaving one to ask, what is safe?
