“More Than One Thing” narrates a message of the art industry trapping artists into one type of media/art form/style. While a consistent portfolio is necessary, this also can stifle artist’s natural creative exploration. It can feel like they are being broken apart as represented by the broken baby doll parts and being trapped and put on display as represented by the figure encased in the snow globe. The claw machine represents the narrative of the art industry being rigged and setting artists up for failure.
